Alicia Silverstone stars and executive produces the hit series that broke Acorn TV records with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score. Season two filming begins 2026.

Alicia Silverstone, star and executive producer of the critically acclaimed series Irish Blood, will return for a second season following an official renewal announcement from Acorn TV, a premier North American streaming platform. The announcement coincides with the airing of the Season 1 finale today, which ended with a major cliffhanger, leaving fans in a torn situation, eagerly anticipating the next instalment.

The gripping six-episode murder mystery series, set in Ireland, has emerged as Acorn TV’s most successful production to date since its series premiere. It has claimed the top spot in both viewer engagement and subscriber acquisition, based on initial three-week viewership data, including delayed viewing, in the United States. This remarkable first season has not only broken records in Acorn TV history but has also garnered universal acclaim, maintaining a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, solidifying its status among brilliant mysteries in the streaming landscape.

“Being able to continue this journey with a character I’ve grown to cherish means everything to me. I’m deeply grateful to our captive audience for their unwavering support, to our exceptional Irish cast and crew who made the experience unforgettable, and to everyone involved in bringing this series to life,” Silverstone expressed. “We’re thrilled that audiences have connected with the story and stayed engaged throughout the journey.”

Season 1 of Irish Blood chronicles the story of Fiona Fox (Silverstone), a woman whose life trajectory was forever altered by her estranged father’s apparent abandonment on her tenth birthday. After years of channelling her resentment into her career as a fierce litigator, often representing litigious clients, an unexpected message from her father leads her to Ireland. There, she uncovers startling revelations about her father and discovers a family unaware of her existence.

More importantly, she learns that the abandonment narrative that defined her life was fabricated – a protective measure shielding her and her mother from her father’s serious trouble with shady business dealings. Determined, Fiona sets out to uncover the complete truth about her father and rebuild a relationship with the man she thought she understood.

The first season features a stellar cast, including Jason O’Mara, Wendy Crewson, Dearbhla Molloy, Simone Kirby, Ruth Codd, and Leonardo Taiwo, alongside Silverstone.

As the premier streaming destination for thrilling crime dramas and mysteries, Acorn TV is deeply appreciative of our subscribers’ enthusiastic reception of this series and eagerly anticipates beginning work on season two.”
