Millie Bobby Brown and husband Jake Bongiovi announces the adoption of their first child, fulfilling the actress’s long-expressed desire to start a family together.
Millie Bobby Brown, the Stranger Things actress, and her husband Jake Bongiovi have announced that they are expecting their first child after adopting a “sweet baby girl” this summer. The 21-year-old Brown and 23-year-old Bongiovi released a joint statement on their social media platforms expressing they were “beyond excited” to begin this new life chapter.
The pair shared on Instagram Thursday, alongside an illustration of a tree: “We welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption this summer. We are beyond excited to start this beautiful new chapter of parenthood with our first baby together, requesting both peace and privacy during this time.”
Their announcement, which played the Beatles track Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da in the background, ended with: “And then there were 3.”
Brown, renowned for portraying Eleven in Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things, and Bongiovi, a professional model and son of rock star Jon Bon Jovi, tied the knot last October following their 2023 engagement.

Brown has previously expressed her desire for motherhood, indicating she hoped to build a large family with her husband. She had mentioned adoption as a possibility and even discussed plans for future family outings.
During a March appearance on the SmartLess podcast, hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, she stated: “Jake understands how significant having a child is to me. We’re already planning our first family outing with our little one.”
Brown, who recently starred alongside Chris Pratt in the science fiction movie The Electric State, noted: “While establishing myself as an actor and producer is crucial, I personally believe starting a family is equally important.”

The release of Brown’s first novel in 2023 sparked discussions about celebrity books written by ghostwriters.
Nineteen Steps, drawing inspiration from her grandmother’s experience during the 1943 Bethnal Green tube tragedy, was penned by author Kathleen McGurl, though only Brown’s name appeared on the cover.
Following a now-removed Waterstones promotional tweet about the book, numerous X platform users criticized the actress.

Brown later shared an Instagram photo of herself holding the book beside McGurl, writing: “I couldn’t have done this without you!”
Other celebrities who have employed ghostwriters for their fiction works include Zoella (social media star Zoë Sugg), Katie Price, and Naomi Campbell.
