The Show’s Intriguing Dynamics
Out of the 21 contestants, Cumming will choose three of them to be Traitors, while the remaining participants will be Faithfuls. The identity of the Traitors will be revealed in the premiere episode. In this reality game show, which has versions in various countries such as the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, the Faithfuls and Traitors work together in missions to earn money for the group prize fund. In between missions, the Faithfuls try to uncover the identity of the Traitors and vote them off at the Round Table. Meanwhile, the Traitors secretly meet at a turret every night to discuss which Faithful to eliminate from the game. Every player aims to make it to the end and win the cash prize.
The Show’s Popularity
Since its launch in the United States, “The Traitors” has become a sensation and constantly trended on various social media platforms during its second season. In February, while Season Two was still airing, Variety reported that “The Traitors” was already renewed for a third season by Peacock. The streaming platform has yet to announce the release date for the new episodes.
Reflecting on Past Seasons
In Season One, Cirie Fields from “Survivor” successfully deceived the other contestants as she competed alongside fellow celebrities and a group of reality television fans, winning the sole prize of $250,000. In the previous season, viewers witnessed Traitors Dan Gheesling (“Big Brother”), Parvati Shallow (“Survivor”), and Phaedra Parks (“The Real Housewives of Atlanta”) fail to outlast the Faithfuls. The winners were “The Challenge” stars Chris “CT” Tamburello and Trishelle Cannatella, who split a cash prize of $208,100.
